The University of West Bohemia in Pilsen (UWB) and CSG Aerospace a.s. (CSGA), a member of the Czechoslovak Group (CSG), have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at connecting academic research with industrial practice. The partnership's goals include the development of new technologies and project activities in areas of mutual interest, the effective transfer of UWB's scientific results to industrial applications, as well as enhancing students' expertise and strengthening their connection to practical experience.

The agreement was signed by UWB Rector Miroslav Lávička, CSGA Vice President for Research, Development, and Innovation Bohuslav Přikryl, and CSGA Chief Operating Officer Tomáš Vlček. Also present at the meeting were Vice Rectors Jiří Hammerbauer (Science and Research) and Ján Váně (External Relations), who will oversee the practical implementation of the agreement. Tomáš Richtr, Chief Operating Officer of CS Soft, a company within the CSGA group, also participated.

UWB Rector Miroslav Lávička stated: "Thanks to UWB being part of the European alliance EUPeace, we can also offer collaboration with these international partners. While the alliance primarily focuses on social science issues, the war in Ukraine clearly demonstrates that if we want to protect our values, we must also invest in technologies to defend our society."

CSGA Vice President Bohuslav Přikryl added: "We want to leverage all the opportunities offered by the academic environment. In addition to collaboration on contract research, we also offer scholarship programs through which we can support students in both bachelor's and master's programs."

This collaboration represents a significant step toward connecting the academic and industrial sectors in the Czech Republic and offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of cutting-edge technologies.
