The company ELDIS Pardubice has agreed to collaborate with its sister company Retia on the development of a new type of precision landing radar. The impetus for this change was the technical parameter of circular polarization, the absence of which had been a limiting factor in tender processes.
The new precision approach radar, PAR-NG, represents a significant generational leap compared to its predecessor, the PAR-E. The upgraded active electronically scanned array (AESA) technology, operating in the 9.0 to 9.4 GHz band, now features circular polarization capability. This enhancement significantly improves detection performance even under adverse weather conditions.
Compared to its predecessor, component redundancy has been maximized, including the complete air conditioning system, thereby increasing the overall reliability of the system. The PAR-NG is part of a new generation of radars dominated by advanced computing technologies. This enables faster operation, easy reconfiguration, and overall better adaptation to market demands.
Thanks to the efficient use of lightweight materials, the radar is ergonomic and, with its standardized 1C transport configuration and CSC certification, is well-suited for mobile airfields. The PAR-NG addresses growing customer demands for flexibility, sustainability, and modern operational capabilities, fully replacing the previous radar generation.
