Eldis has been supplying radars to India for a long time and with more than two dozen installations, it covers almost the entire airspace of the world's most populous and seventh largest country. Now Eldis has managed to win another key order in India, this time for 20 radars for a major customer, the Airports Authority of India.
Winning this international tender is a testament to the trust Eldis products and services have built in the aerospace industry. It also undoubtedly confirms the company's position as a leading supplier of ATC radars for civil air traffic control in India, both in terms of technical quality and customer friendliness and reliability.
The total order of 20 radars consists of 11 combined (PSR/MSSR) and 9 secondary radars (MSSR). Some will be delivered as replacements for older radars, but for the most part the radars will be placed at new airports.

The deliveries will be spread over the next two years, from 2024 to 2026. This initiative is part of a broader trend where India is investing in upgrading its air traffic management system in response to the dramatic growth of civil aviation in the country.
In addition to radars for civil air traffic control, Airports Authority of India has awarded Eldis a contract for a total of eleven combined radars, i.e. primary and secondary, for the Indian Army Navy and Air Force in 2021. This will bring the number of radars installed by Eldis in India to more than five dozen once the new order for two dozen radars is completed.
