The DSEI (Defence and Security Equipment International) exhibition, held every two years in London, is one of the world’s most significant events in the field of defense and security. This year, it will take place from September 9 to 12, and for the first time under the CSG Defence division, companies from the CSG Group will showcase their products in a joint exhibition. These will include Excalibur Army, Tatra Export, MSM Group, Retia, and Czechoslovak Export.

The Pardubice-based company Retia, part of the CSG Aerospace division, will for the first time showcase a system designed to eliminate aerial threats in the form of a detailed model. The entire setup demonstrates a combination of two approaches to neutralizing aerial targets. The first part represents a medium- or long-range system belonging to the GBAD category, which includes truck-mounted radars, fire control stations, and the missile launcher itself, which serves to engage targets. The second part of the system consists of an additional counter-drone protection capability, which can also deal with small UAVs, with initial detection carried out by radar. This is a so-called soft kill solution, which does not have fatal consequences for the UAV or its operator. Retia will also exhibit the ReTwis 5+ lightweight portable radar, which can detect and track living persons and animals located behind walls or other non-metallic obstacles.

The Šternberk-based company Excalibur Army will mainly present the Patriot 4x4 medium armored vehicle, offering high ballistic and anti-mine protection, suitable for a wide range of missions—from a light combat vehicle, through patrol, reconnaissance, and command variants, to a weapons station carrier with different armaments, an ambulance, or a platform for various electronic systems. The vehicle has already entered service with several armies, for example in Poland, as well as in countries of the Middle East and South Asia. Excalibur Army will also use audiovisual presentations to showcase its entire portfolio of combat and support vehicles. This will mainly include the modern Morana and Dita self-propelled howitzers, armed with NATO-standard 155 mm guns, as well as other key products such as the Treva-30 recovery and evacuation vehicle, the RM-70 Vampire rocket launcher, and various engineering and special vehicles such as the AM-50EX and AM-70EX bridge layers or the DECON decontamination vehicle, all built on Tatra chassis.

Tatra Export, a subsidiary of Tatra Trucks, will represent the automaker in London and present the model ranges of Tatra vehicles designed for military purposes. Experts and visitors at the exhibition will be able to learn about the features and performance of the Tatra Force, Tatra Tactic, and Tatra Phoenix vehicle series through special exhibits and electronic presentations. All three series already serve in numerous armed forces worldwide. The technological and development capabilities of the Czech manufacturer will also be represented by the aforementioned Patriot 4x4 vehicle, which is also built on a Tatra chassis.

Another exhibitor at the joint CSG Defence division stand will be MSM Group, which includes several manufacturers of modern medium- and large-caliber ammunition. ZVS, a traditional Slovak company specializing in artillery ammunition for decades, will present samples of 155 mm NATO-standard artillery ammunition and various types of fuzes and components for this type of ammunition. Another Slovak company, VOP Nováky, will showcase a wide range of training ammunition in 155 mm, 152 mm, and 122 mm calibers, as well as mortar ammunition in 60 mm, 81 mm, and 120 mm calibers. The MSM Group also includes the Spanish company Fábrica de Municiones Granada, which will present various types of tank ammunition in 120 mm and 105 mm calibers, standard for modern NATO main battle tanks. In addition, the Spanish company will exhibit EOD components. Newly part of MSM Group is also ZVI Vsetín, which will showcase its new 30x173 mm medium-caliber ammunition, designed for infantry fighting vehicles and remotely controlled weapon stations.

Czechoslovak Export will also present its services and projects at the stand. The company acts as an integrator of comprehensive projects of CSG Group companies and represents them commercially in many regions worldwide. Czechoslovak Export focuses mainly on large international projects, turnkey deliveries of comprehensive solutions, as well as ensuring logistics and project financing in both the defense and civilian industries.

The DSEI exhibition is a traditional defense and security technology event held regularly since 1999. It brings together government officials, military representatives, and leading industry players from different countries who showcase the latest technologies, equipment, and innovations. DSEI plays a key role in fostering international cooperation, developing military capabilities, and concluding business agreements across domains such as land, naval, aerospace, cyber, and space security. Its significance lies not only in the scale of participation but also in serving as a platform for shaping the future of global defense and security strategies. This year, organizers expect the participation of more than 1,600 exhibitors from over 90 countries. In 2023, DSEI was attended by more than 41,000 professionals and visitors.
